The Camden Schools Foundation Hall of Fame is a distinguished group of men and women who are Camden city residents or graduated from Camden schools and have made significant contributions to the regional community.
2025 Founder's Honor Award

Bowman & Company supports the Camden Schools Foundation because they believe in The Foundation’s mission, the potential of the Camden youth, and because every child deserves an opportunity to pursue goals in their educational and professional careers.
Conner Strong & Buckelew, have collaborated to focus on improving youth education, funding disease research, supporting the arts and helping the disadvantaged in whatever ways possible. They are proud to support the life-changing organizations that are making a world of difference
American Water has long believed in the importance of being a good neighbor and good steward of the environment. The primary focus of the American Water Charitable Foundation is to support employees in their own charitable endeavors, provide stronger support for disaster relief efforts, and to provide funding for higher-level initiatives related to clean water, conservation, education, and community sustainability. Since inception, the Foundation has provided $15.5 million in funding through grants and matching gifts.
Hall of Fame Honorees
Delia Brown
Delia grew up in the “Centerville” section of Camden and graduated from Camden High School in 1960. Her post secondary education included a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1964 from Glassboro State College in Elementary Education; a Master of Arts Degree in Reading Education from Glassboro State College in 1976, and another Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Rowan University in 1996.
Chief Jesse Flax
Jesse’s early years in the Camden Fire Department were marked by his exceptional commitment to excellence and a rapid ascent through the ranks. In 2001, he was promoted to Fire Captain, a position that allowed him to significantly impact the department and the firefighters under his command.
Daniel Irizarry
Daniel is presently a Camden County Police Detective and President of the Camden County Fraternal Order of Police. He also served 4 years as the Rank and File Vice President. During his tenure on the Executive Board, he has made it a priority to support community initiatives.
Rev. Dr. Silas M. Townsend
Dr. Townsend has been the Pastor of the St. John Baptist Church in Camden, New Jersey since 1982. Rev. Townsend is a humble, compassionate Man of God. He works tirelessly on behalf of the young people, supporting programs in local schools and community groups. He encourages them to stay in school and always do their best.
