Thankful for our Volunteers

Camden, NJ –

This Thanksgiving, the Camden Schools Foundation is thankful for its wonderful team of volunteers! Our Board of Trustees is made up entirely of volunteers from the community who seek to further our mission of supporting the students and schools in Camden.

Our dedicated volunteers meet monthly, serve on committees, and oversee all the operations of the foundation. We would not be able to reach our goals with out them.

Some of our volunteers, like Foundation President Jack Tarditi, and Board member Ken Long work in Camden. Other Board members like Susan Dunbar-Bey, Victor Carstarphen, and Erin Johnson live and work in Camden.

Other volunteers are involved through their connections with the Camden City School District. Camden High Athletic Director, Mark Philips serves on our board as does Charae Thompson-Perry, Senior Manager of Community Engagement for the District. Suzette Ortiz, retired Camden teacher and Darand Garner the District Manager for Aramark are also on our Board.

No matter how they got involved one thing all our volunteers share is a passion for the students in Camden. Through the foundation they’re able to help ensure every child has the opportunity for success.
